All medical and surgical treatment of reproductive disorders.

Advanced Ovulation Induction - The treatment of the patient with oral or injectible medication to induce or enhance ovulatory function.

Diagnostic & Operative Techniques - Such as: Laparoscopy, Hysteroscopy, and Resectoscopy. These are outpatient same day surgical procedures. Laparoscopy is the evaluation of the abdominal and pelvic cavities with the use of an operative telescope in which the laparoscope (operative telescope) is inserted under anesthesia through the navel area. The Hysteroscope/Resectoscope is also a smaller operative telescope placed into the uterine cavity via a vaginal approach. These procedures which are minimally invasive provide the surgeon with direct visualization of the anatomical structures. Dr. Annos has performed more than 6,000 Laparoscopies, and more than 3,000 Hysteroscopies.

Intrauterine Insemination (IUI) - This is the introduction of prepared sperm either of partner or donor origin.

Intra Abdominal Surgery - Laparotomy (abdominal incision). Procedures such as removal of uterine fibroids tubal microsurgery, and tubal re-anastomoses (reconnecting the fallopian tubes to reverse tubal ligation or blockage) are performed via this approach.

Sex Pre-Selection - Laboratory procedure to select sperm that will increase the likelihood of a male or female child (embryo). This lab procedure is then followed by intrauterine insemination (IUI) of prepared sperm.

Ovarian Cryopreservation - Freezing of a woman's ovarian tissue prior to cancer treatments such as chemotherapy or radiation therapy to possibly preserve fertility.

Invitro Fertilization (IVF) - A procedure involving fertilization of the human egg via prepared sperm in a culture medium outside of the woman's body. Subsequent embryos are than transferred into the woman's uterus. Dr. Annos personally performs all retrievals (surgically obtaining the eggs for fertilization) and all transfers (surgically transferring the fertilized eggs into the woman's uterus.)

State-of-the-Art techniques involved in IVF are available to Dr. Annos' patients. These include :

Blastocyst Transfer - The transfer of a 5-6 day embryo into the uterus. This new technique not only improves pregnancy rates, but also decreases the multiple pregnancy rate.

Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI) - Is also performed during the IVF procedure for male factor infertility. As the name implies, this is the direct injection of sperm into the cytoplasm (cellular fluid) of the egg.

Assisted Hatching Techniques - Methods of improving the implantation of the embryo during IVF.

Gamete Intrafallopian Tube Transfer (GIFT) & Zygote Intrafallopian Tube Transfer (ZIFT) - These two operative laparoscopic procedures involve the placement of the gametes (sperm and egg) or zygote (embryo) into the fallopian tubes.

Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD)

Dr. Annos has achieved less than 8% multiple pregnancy rate using fertility injections with or without IVF. This is far superior to and less than half of the national multiple pregnancy rate using these methods.

• More than 6,000 Laparoscopies performed.

• More than 3,000 Hysteroscopies/Resectoscopies performed.
